Overview

Our proposed Signature Project for Tamborine Mountain aligns with the 2032 Olympic Games legacy planning and Council’s “Active, Vibrant Towns” and “Be Active and Healthy” initiatives. The proposal centres on creating a coordinated, accessible, and environmentally sustainable active transport pathway—designed for locals, pedestrians, cyclists, and mobility-impaired users—which would also serve as a valuable ecotourism feature for the region.


Project Purpose and Vision

Tamborine Mountain attracts approximately 1.6 million visitors annually but lacks adequate shared-use infrastructure. Our vision is to create a scenic, functional, and inclusive multi-use pathway network that:


  • Enhances visitor experiences through improved accessibility and connectivity
  • Promotes walking, cycling, and mobility access as primary, safe forms of travel
  • Integrates tourism, health, environmental and community wellbeing outcomes
  • Showcases the natural beauty of the mountain through carefully planned lookouts and interpretive signage
  • Positions Tamborine Mountain as a leading ecotourism destination in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games
